Ms. Salima Jahan working as a Policy & Advocacy Advisor with Eco Energy Engineering and Consultancy. She has over 40 years of experience and expertise in Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Policy Formulation, Administration, Training, and Consultancy. She was a Joint Secretary to the Government of Bangladesh and led the Sustainable and Renewable Energy Development Authority (SREDA) under the Power Division, Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh as a Member of the Renewable Energy Wing and Policy & Research Wing. Before joining SREDA, she worked for several Ministries/Divisions at the policy formulation level. She has extensive experience as a trainer in two apex training institutes in the fields of law and public administration. Ms. Salima Jahan is also the Project Director of the Household Energy Platform Programme in Bangladesh, which leads the access to the clean cooking sector. She was involved in the development of the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Master Plan (EECMP), Energy Audit, Standard & Labeling, Net Metering Policy, National Action Plan for Clean Cooking, and many other national-level policy development initiatives. She has participated in various training programs both at home and abroad. Ms. Salima Jahan completed her BA (Hons) and MA in English from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. She obtained her second MS in Public Policy and Management from the University of Melbourne, Australia. She received two Post Graduate Diploma in Development Administration from the University of Birmingham, UK, and Development Studies from IDEAS, Tokyo, Japan. Ms. Salima Jahan has visited about 14 countries. She loves to visit new places. Studying is her passion, and she finds enormous pleasure in sharing thoughts and ideas with people. Her dream is to build a cozy corner in the lap of nature for female orphans.
